Murder or Duty?

Q:  When you kill someone while fighting in the Marines etc, how does God look upon that? I know it's against the 10 commandments but it is also serving our country.

A:  Your question on killing in war as a duty for your country is complicated. Some who are pacifists say any retaliation is wrong, others think fighting for freedom/country is reasonable. I think, like everything else, it depends on your heart and the reason you do so. Nationalism, however, is not Biblical. We are citizens of Heaven who honor God by His will over national concern.
